we've been a little concerned that the fence was going to be an issue with the neighbors - that somehow it would be perceived that we were trying to keep people out instead of just trying to improve our property. however, it's been just the opposite. no fewer than 10 people stopped by this afternoon to say how much they like what we're doing with the house, including the fence. a couple people even wondered when we were going to have our first neighborhood party. i guess good fences really do make good neighbors!
