thankfully i'm the flipflop fed and not the flipflop black cat employee

first the white house and now the black cat? who will be the next to ban flipflops? i guess i understand (the black cat, but not the white house), but i have more important things to process - namely, is there really a hyphen between flip and flop? and if there is - why? isn't it a compound word? well, webster can do whatever he wishes, but i am the girl who writes in lower case and generally ignores rules that don't conform to MY style. so, the flipflop fed i remain.
