they're bringing in supports

looks like the handful of openly gay residents of ward 8 are bringing in back up! yesterday, a coalition of more than 100 clergy from all faith backgrounds converged on a welcoming baptist church in deep southeast, in the heart of ward 8, to declare their support for full marriage rights for all district of columbia residents. interestingly, while the mayor for life and his ordained supporters predicted impending civil war, this group of men and women religious sounded much more christlike, declaring -

recognizing that there is heartfelt disagreement on this issue, we call on all people of the district of columbia to engage in respectful and loving dialogue on marriage equality

... looks like YOU'RE going to need both hands for that smoothbore musket. yesterday, the ward 8 democrats voted overwhelmingly to support gay marriage in the district. apparently, those handful of gays have some supporters!
